Every First Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the streets shut to welcome over 5,000 guests Downtown for a Classy Car Show, a Makers Market, and exhibitors offering freebies and family-friendly activities. Four blocks of North Kentucky Avenue are blocked every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the Downtown Farmers Curb Market, which features local farmers and craftspeople. On Lake Morton, feed the swans. Hollis Garden, with over 10,000 flowers, a fountain, and a beautiful view of Lake Mirror, is a great place to meditate. Alternatively, take a selfie with the public art along the Lemon Street promenade. Munn Park, Hollis Garden, the Lemon Street Promenade, Lake Morton, Florida Southern College, the Frances Langford Promenade at Lake Mirror, and Barnett Family Park are just a few of the many unique sites and outdoor areas in the Downtown footprint. There are around 40 restaurants and bars to choose from. Sushi, barbecue, a hot dog, or a sports bar are all good options. Participate in a yoga or dancing class. Invest in men’s clothing, urban wear, fair-trade items, or antiques. Make an appointment for a haircut or a facial. Try to break out of not one, but two different escape rooms.
