Lake Bonny neighborhood is only around a 10-minute stroll to downtown. Stores are close by, and the area is peaceful and kind. Longfellow Boulevard to the east, Fern Road to the west, Gary Road to the north, and Main Street/East Lake Bonny Drive to the south define the limits of the neighborhood. The homes in this established area were largely built between 1910 and 1960, and they range in style from Dutch colonial and Spanish to Craftsman and more contemporary. A Sears kit house may be seen on the corner of Dixie Place and East Elm Road. Homes in the Lake Bonny area are similar to those in the Lake Morton, East Lake Morton, Beacon Hill, Lake Hunter Terrace, Dixieland, and the Biltmore Cumberland historic districts. Many homeowners choose Lake Bonny because it doesn’t have the official historic neighborhood classification, which means you won’t have to follow the same rules when it comes to house upgrades like installing sheds and fences or changing windows. Another benefit of living in the Lake Bonny neighborhood is its proximity to downtown Lakeland. More residents are embracing the downtown area for its unique shopping, dining, and recreational opportunities, and there’s a growing desire to live in or near downtown. The Poor Porker operates its food truck and is working on a storefront facility at 801 E. Main St., where they will hold evening markets with a variety of vendors, as well as have their retail store selling high-end home products. The Main Street Diner, located at 812 E. Main St., is a terrific place to get a burger or some honey-fried chicken. The Lake Bonny Neighborhood is roughly a mile away from all of these businesses. Interlachen Park was renovated years ago by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department, which included playground equipment, fencing, planting, and numerous concrete parking places. A paved walking/biking route runs beside Lake Bonny, and the Lake Bonny Boat Ramp has picnic tables and a fishing pier. Barnett Family Park, Frances Langford Promenade, and Hollis Garden are all approximately a mile distant in downtown Lakeland. Residents in the neighborhood are quite polite to one another. Everyone waves to each other in this peaceful and beautiful neighborhood. The neighborhood also has various speed bumps to ensure the safety of the children and other walkers in the area. The numerous lakes in the vicinity provide enough chances for walking, jogging, bicycling, and blading. The Lake-to-Lake Trail will become one of your favorite places to visit.
